We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards with strong belief that every person has the right to access the site with confidence, equality, comfort and independence.
We are constantly improving trying to mean the requirements based on your comfort level. If you find that there are issues that are lacking, please email us at [email protected]. We will try our best to meet your standards as fast as we can.
Measures to support accessibility
drkarenslee.com takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of the website.
- Include accessibility as part of our mission statement.
- Assign clear accessibility targets and responsibilities.
www.drkarenslee.com continues its efforts to constantly improve the accessibility of its site and services in the belief that it is our collective moral obligation to allow seamless, accessible and unhindered use also for those of us with disabilities.
Despite our efforts to make all pages and content on www.drkarenslee.com fully accessible, some content may not have yet been fully adapted to the strictest accessibility standards. This may be a result of not having found or identified the most appropriate technological solution.
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. Our goal is to fully achieve WCAG 2.1 level AA conformance by December 2022. We are partially conformant, which means that some parts do not fully conform to the accessibility standard but we are working hard to reach our goal by end of 2022.
Areas for Improvement
Recipe Star Rating - as of July, 2020, the recipe rating system can not be accessed by keyboard. I have contacted the recipe card developer and they are working on adding this functionality as soon as possible, so when it is available, we will make it available to the readers.
Alt Texts/Tags on Images - we are continuing to update the alt texts or tags on all images. We believe they are all filled in but if you find any images with improper or empty alt texts, please email us at [email protected] and we will make the adjustments.
Videos - we are new to videos but we will update the old videos and add captions to improve your accessibility.
Link Text - we will update link texts to be accessibility compliant by December 2022.
