Valentine’s Day is coming up in a few days and you haven’t had a chance to plan on a romantic getaway. Don’t worry; there is still time left to plan on a meaningful romantic surprise without breaking out in a sweat or breaking your bank. The day is not about buying the biggest or the grandest gift but creating an unforgettable day to share with your partner.
Here are some easy peasy but memorable ways to spend this Valentine’s Day.
5 Last Minute Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas
1. Give Each Other a Massage
There’s nothing more romantic than a massage from you. Dim the lights, get out the soy candles and the essential oil. Spend quality time kneading out those stressed out knots from your partner’s tense muscles. It not only saves about $120 for an hour massage, but it’s coming from you. And who knows what will a great sensuous massage will lead to?
2. Give a Potted Plant
There is no law that says you have to give or receive a dozen red roses for Valentine’s Day. A live potted plant will live so much longer than cut flowers and it will detox indoor air quality, making it a healthier gift. Healthy gift that lasts forever? How can you argue with that? Here is a list of indoor air detoxing plants.
3. Go on a Picnic
Depending on where you live, you can easily pack up a nice little basket and go off to a place where you’ve never been before and have a quality time together. Nothing fancy or exotic – just good old picnic basket filled with a healthy meal plus your charming personality will do just fine. If the weather doesn’t permit an outdoor picnic, why not on the living room floor, in front of a fireplace? That works too!
4. Make a Music List or CD
This might sound so ‘70’s but make a collection of meaningful songs that will conjure up fond memories of your life together. Wedding songs? Your first dance? Or even some silly tunes you used to laugh or dance with. Include songs that will make him/her think of you; songs that will make hime/her run faster; songs that will put a smile on his/her face when driving to work; and songs that will make him/her want to come home faster.
5. Cook Together
There is nothing more sensuous than sharing a quiet meal together but cooking? Now there is an easy way to spend even more time together. Pick a dish that both of you love and make it an evening of gastronomic love fest. Crank up the music, chill the wine, and get cooking. Make sure to include dishes that use aphrodisiac ingredients like chili peppers, avocados, salmon, and vanilla. And of course, chocolate. Lots of chocolate!
Spending quality time together or expressing how much you love the person is what Valentine’s Day is about, isn’t it? Making it memorable doesn’t have to be over-the-top extravagant.
